A car owner by the name of Irv Gordon, has driven his Volvo P1800 3 million miles. No one on this planet comes close to that impossible milestone.
Mr. Gordon is a retired teacher with a passion for automobiles and sightseeing. He has done most of his sightseeing with his 1966 Volvo P1800 Coupe. The odometer in his vehicle is only five digits long, but he has kept track of the miles over time. He reached the 3 million mark while driving on Alaska Highway 1.
He has only had to rebuild his engine twice and almost never misses an oil change.
“It’s not about getting to the 3 million miles; it’s about the trips that got me to the 3 million miles,” Gordon said to Volvo. “I never had a goal to get to 1 million, to 2 million. I just enjoyed driving and experiencing life through my Volvo.”
